We understand that waiting for your results can be a stressful time. To support you, we’ve put together some top tips to help you prepare if you’re considering Clearing. 

1. Be the first to secure your place

Priority Clearing gives you the opportunity to apply for a place through Clearing before A-level results day. Find out more about applying through Priority Clearing.

Search our 2025 undergraduate Clearing vacancies for: 

• UK students
• ¾ÞÈéÊÓƵ students
• Foundation Year UK students

2. Consider every outcome

Keep your options open by looking at the alternative courses we offer within your subject area of interest. This will help increase your chances of securing a place on a similar course if things don’t go to plan. Remember that similar courses may have different names at different universities.

3. Check your contact details

We may need to contact you on results day, so it’s important to make sure your contact details are correct in UCAS. We recommend using your personal email address rather than your school email address.

If you want someone to talk to universities on your behalf, you'II need to add them as your nominated contact on UCAS.

4. Be available to discuss your options

If you want to wait until you get your results on Thursday 14 August, you’ll be able to phone our Clearing call centre from 8am onwards on results day to speak to us about being considered for a place through Clearing.

We’ll update our website with information about contacting our Clearing call centre on results day closer to the time.

5. Think about finance

It can take time to process your application for Student Finance, so it's better to apply sooner rather than later. You can always amend or cancel your application if your plans change. Read our information about how to apply for student finance.

6. Think about accommodation

Choosing where to live is a huge part of university life. Feeling at home in Leeds will help you to be happy and thrive.

If you are made an offer through Clearing and apply for your accommodation before 31 August 2025, you will be guaranteed university-arranged accommodation for your first year.
